Restoration of sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the revival of movement in the US Congress regarding the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, particularly Russian oil. The key priority remains blocking the supply of components for Russian weapons. Zelensky expressed hope that next week the Verkhovna Rada will support the appointment of Mykhailo Fedorov as the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Zelensky noted that only Russia is the source of this war, the reason for the prolongation of the conflict, and deserves all the blows and pressure in response for all its actions against life, people, diplomacy, and partners. He emphasized that dialogue with America is a strategic task that must be one hundred percent constructive.

Situation at the front

In the context of the current situation, combat brigades are holding the defense in the Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Kupiansk directions. The Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov also joined the discussion of current issues, in particular, the report of Rustem Umerov. These measures reflect Ukraine's efforts to counter aggression and ensure the country's security.

The restoration of sanctions against Russia in the US Congress could significantly affect the economic capabilities of the Kremlin, particularly in the energy sector, which is an important source of funding for the war. At the same time, support for Ukraine from the US remains critically important, as Kyiv strives to ensure stability and security amid ongoing hostilities. The appointment of a new Minister of Defense may also indicate an intention to strengthen Ukraine's military strategy in the face of escalating conflict.
