Address by President Volodymyr Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an evening address on January 5, stated about Russia's unchanged strategy, which consists of prolonging the war and inflicting harm on Ukraine. This statement came against the backdrop of new Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure, which continue to cause serious destruction.

The Situation in Ukraine

In particular, a hospital was damaged in Kyiv, and in Dnipro, missiles hit a sunflower oil producer. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that in December, 35,000 occupiers were destroyed, in November — 30,000, and in October — 26,000.

'Russia is prolonging the war and trying to inflict the maximum damage on Ukraine.' Volodymyr Zelensky

He also emphasized that 'our strategy, the strategy of protecting lives, will be reinforced.' Among other important points, the president noted that 'ballistics against energy' is one of the key aspects of this struggle.

'The increase in these indicators is the result of correct decisions.' Volodymyr Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky added that the Ukrainian negotiation team works around the clock to achieve progress in negotiations. Against the backdrop of these events, asymmetric actions against Russia by the Security Service of Ukraine are being intensified, scheduled meetings in Europe are taking place, and contacts with the U.S. president's team continue.

These events highlight the continuation of the tense situation in Ukraine, where Russian attacks on civilian facilities demonstrate Moscow's desire to inflict maximum damage. At the same time, the active actions of the Ukrainian side, including negotiations with international partners, indicate efforts to strengthen defense capabilities and achieve diplomatic success. Key issues remain regarding support from Western allies and possible new sanctions against Russia.
