Zelensky's meeting with European leaders
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a video conference with leaders of European countries, lasting about two hours. This took place before a scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump.
According to the spokesperson for the President of the European Commission, the discussions focused on several key issues. Among them were the need to stop the violence in Ukraine, support for sanctions against Russia, and the affirmation that decisions regarding territory should be made by Ukraine itself.
The importance of reliable security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe as a whole was also discussed.
'The discussions focused on key issues such as the necessity to stop the violence in Ukraine, the preservation of sanctions against Russia, the principle that decisions about Ukrainian territory should be made by Ukraine itself, and an extremely important topic – reliable security guarantees that protect the vital interests of Ukraine and Europe' – stated the EU Commission representative.
Earlier, Zelensky had already expressed Ukraine's position in talks with Putin regarding 'territories'.
During the online meeting with leaders of European states, Volodymyr Zelensky discussed key issues of cooperation and security for Ukraine and the region, in particular the need to stop the violence in Ukraine and support for sanctions against Russia.
