Ukrainian President Holds Private Session with 'Servant of the People' Faction

On May 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a closed meeting with members of his political party, 'Servant of the People,' in the Ukrainian parliament. The discussions centered on the ongoing war and the country’s immediate priorities. Key attendees included Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Kornienko, Presidential Office Head Kyrylo Budanov, and Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.

Faction leader Davyd Arakhamia stressed that the next six months will be critical—a period demanding maximum focus and national stabilization. He commented:

We spoke frankly—about the war, economic challenges, and the state’s main task for the near term. We thank President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the honest dialogue and the faction for its strong turnout. – Davyd Arakhamia

Ukraine’s Key Priorities

Arakhamia outlined several priority areas for the coming period:

  • ensuring the resilience of state institutions
  • supporting the armed forces
  • making timely payments to citizens
  • maintaining operations in energy, the economy, and local governance
  • advancing steps toward Ukraine’s accession to the European Union

Arakhamia also emphasized that Ukraine needs a genuine path to peace—not a frozen conflict, but conditions that save lives and strengthen international backing. He stated:

This requires a strong state position, national unity, and responsible work from all branches of government. – Davyd Arakhamia

He further warned against internal discord, saying: 'This is not the time for internal conflicts or political shows.'

Notably, on May 20, President Zelenskyy had already held a separate meeting with the parliamentary mono-majority.

This meeting highlights the urgency of addressing key challenges Ukraine faces amid war and economic strain. The emphasis on national unity and military support signals the need for coordinated action across all government branches to achieve stability and progress. Crucially, the push for closer ties with the European Union could significantly shape the country’s future through stronger international support and economic reforms.

In addition to the recent discussions within the 'Servant of the People' faction, President Zelenskyy has also engaged in diplomatic dialogues with leaders from key European nations. These interactions are crucial in shaping Ukraine's international support and strategic partnerships amid the ongoing conflict.
