Zelenskyy Reveals Weekly Strike Map and Announces New Targets

Зеленський представив карту ударів за тиждень та озвучив нові цілі для військових дій.

Ukrainian President Comments on Overnight Strike Against Oil Refinery

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed the overnight attack on an oil refinery in Saratov, located roughly 700 kilometers from the front line. The strike, which took place late Saturday night, also impacted regions including Rostov and Kirov. According to the president, the target was a military base on the Caspian Sea. Ukraine's General Staff officially confirmed the damage to the 'Saratovsky' oil refinery, which is part of the Rosneft network.

Strike Geography and Consequences

Zelenskyy outlined the week's strike geography, noting that attacks hit the following regions:

  • Yaroslavl
  • Ryazan
  • Voronezh
  • Volgograd
  • Rostov
  • Novgorod
  • Nizhny Novgorod
  • Krasnodar

Distances to these targets ranged from 300 to 1,200 kilometers from Ukraine's state border. Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Madyar, reported that roughly twenty Russian plants were struck during May.

'Our Defense Forces of Ukraine are carrying out long-range missions in line with the approved priorities of this sanctions plan.' - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

These strikes signal an escalation in the conflict and demonstrate the growing long-range capabilities of Ukrainian forces. Operations conducted far from the front line could hold strategic importance by depleting enemy resources and showcasing the ability to hit deep into the rear. Russia's response to these attacks and potential shifts in military tactics on both sides remain critical factors to watch as the battlefield evolves.

In a related development, the Ukrainian president also released footage of a recent strike on an oil facility located 800 kilometers from Ukraine's border. This highlights the expanding reach of Ukraine's military operations and underscores the strategic significance of targeting such distant assets in the ongoing conflict.
