Address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
During his evening address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed that Ukraine possesses intelligence regarding Russia's strategic intentions for spring, summer, and autumn—including possible military actions targeting NATO member states. He emphasized that Ukraine is bracing for the next heating season while simultaneously bolstering its defensive capabilities.
According to the information shared by the president, Ukraine has identified the primary axes of the Russian offensive planned for spring and summer. Additionally, there is intelligence on supplementary Russian offensive directions scheduled for autumn. Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine also holds data on potential Russian operations within NATO countries.
“We have data on which directions will be the main ones for the Russians in spring and summer. And also—their additional directions for autumn. We will provide our partners with the available information about the operations the Russians are potentially planning in NATO countries. Ukraine and its partners can protect themselves,” stated Volodymyr Zelensky.
At the same time, active preparations for the upcoming heating season are underway. Repair and restoration work is being carried out across all regions of Ukraine. In this context, a meeting is scheduled for April 1 involving government officials, military personnel, local authorities, and energy companies. The president highlighted the importance of these preparations:
“So that where there are currently delays in the work schedule, where additional funding is needed, where additional generation projects are required—decisions will be made.”
Zelensky also underscored that the Russian political leadership is planning further offensive operations and intends to increase troop numbers by expanding mobilization. “They are not planning peace, unfortunately. We take this soberly—we will defend ourselves, we will defend Ukraine, we will continue to pressure Russia,” he noted.
In summary, Ukraine is actively working to strengthen its defense capabilities and prepare for the winter season, taking into account the threats posed by Russia. The efforts of the president and the government are focused on ensuring national security and maintaining rapid coordination with international partners—a critical priority amid escalating military dangers. The preparations for the heating season also reflect the importance of infrastructure stability in the face of military aggression and energy challenges.
As the situation evolves, the Ukrainian President's insights into Russia's military strategy raise significant concerns. In a related discussion, Zelenskyy elaborates on the alarming prospect of a large-scale Russian offensive involving up to 1.5 million troops and a staggering budget shortfall.
