The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, refuted Russian claims about the breakdown of negotiations with the American side, confirming that dialogue continues daily. According to the president, despite all the media accusations from the Russians, Ukraine continues to actively work on cooperation with the United States.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, had a conversation with the American president's special representative, Steve Witkoff, on December 29. Zelensky noted that negotiations with American leader Donald Trump are also ongoing, particularly regarding the deployment of US troops in Ukraine.
'These are US troops, and therefore America makes such decisions. Of course, we discuss this with President Trump,' the president emphasized.
Thus, the Ukrainian side continues to maintain an active dialogue with the US, despite attempts at misinformation by Russian sources.
