Ukrainian President’s Participation in the G7 Summit
On June 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will take part in discussions about the situation in Ukraine during the G7 summit, set to take place in Évian-les-Bains, France. French President Emmanuel Macron announced this during a meeting at the Élysée Palace. The primary objective of the gathering is to restore a unified and consolidated stance among G7 nations in support of Kyiv. Additionally, Zelensky held a phone call with Macron, during which they reviewed the outcomes of the London meeting and the specifics of talks in Chișinău with envoys of the U.S. President, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Emmanuel Macron underscored the significance of this discussion, stating: 'On Tuesday morning, we will hold a conversation about Ukraine with President Zelensky. This is very important for us because we need to reestablish a convergence of positions within the G7 in support of Ukraine concerning various aspects of this war. That means we need support, negotiations, and commitments.'
