Recognition of the bravery of rescuers and guards

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, recognized the bravery of rescuers and guards who demonstrated heroism in combat actions. During the solemn award ceremony, Major of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Babenko was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for his courage. He carried out over 40 combat missions under fire, saving lives in Pokrovsk and Rodynske, and also sustained serious injuries during an explosion in Sloviansk.

Additionally, Senior Sergeant Viktor Ivanov from military unit 3017, as well as Chief Sergeant Viktor Bystryi from military unit 3018, received the honorary distinction Cross of Military Merits. In recognition of the achievements of the National Guardsmen, four families of defenders received certificates for their own housing. It is also worth noting that four defenders were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, which confirms their heroism and dedication to the cause of protecting the country.

This award ceremony is an important step in recognizing the achievements of military personnel and rescuers who risk their lives to save others. The recognition of heroism and courage not only boosts the morale of the military but also demonstrates to society the importance of supporting the defenders of the country in the context of a prolonged war.
