Appointment of Kyrylo Budanov to a New Position
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky listened to the report of the newly appointed head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov. During the meeting, issues of sanctions policy and priority tasks of domestic policy that require urgent resolution were discussed. Kyrylo Budanov, who was recently appointed head of the Office of the President, replaced Oleg Ivashchenko in this position.
Moreover, Zelensky signed decrees appointing Kyrylo Budanov and Oleg Ivashchenko to new positions. It is worth noting that earlier the president dismissed Budanov from the position of head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. The president also signed a decree updating the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, which now includes:
- Sergii Boiov
- Kyrylo Budanov
- Oleg Ivashchenko
At the same time, Serhii Deineka was removed from it.
The Importance of Adapting Domestic Policy
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of maintaining and adapting all means of pressure on Russia and its associated persons in accordance with the changes occurring in a wartime environment. 'We identified tasks within domestic policy that require urgent resolution,' the president added.
These measures reflect new state priorities under the current situation. The appointment of Kyrylo Budanov as head of the Office of the President reflects the strategic approach of the Ukrainian authorities to managing the ongoing crisis. In times of war, an active sanctions policy and domestic reforms become critically important for ensuring stability and effectiveness of state governance.
The involvement of new members in the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff also underscores readiness for operational changes in military strategy and management of the country's security.
