Exemption from mobilization for media figures
People's Deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced the mobilization exemption for media figures Volodymyr Petrov and Serhii Ivanov. Volodymyr Petrov has an exemption dated July 31, 2025, which is valid until January 21, 2026. Petrov's exemption was obtained from the state institution 'National Military Memorial Cemetery', where he works as a communications specialist. In 2025, Petrov earned about 70 thousand hryvnias in salary.
Serhii Ivanov also received a mobilization exemption, which is valid until June 2026. This exemption was issued by the private company Star Trek Industries, which executed contracts with state energy enterprises for the supply of equipment. The total amount of contracts for the company 'Starke Industries' reached about 70 million hryvnias.
Simplified exemption procedure
It should be noted that until February 1, 2026, a simplified exemption procedure for employees will be in effect through the portal 'Diia', which will reduce the processing time for applications from three days to 24 hours. In 2024, the publication 'Glavkom' reported a tender for the new construction of the National Military Memorial Cemetery worth 1.75 billion hryvnias.
These mobilization exemptions indicate the continuation of the practice of protecting certain categories of workers who are engaged in matters important for the state, particularly in the fields of communications and energy. The simplification of the exemption procedure through the 'Diia' portal can significantly impact the efficiency of application processing, which in turn will help retain key personnel in critical sectors of the economy during mobilization measures. This is an important aspect that helps ensure stability in the face of military challenges for the country.
