People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced serious challenges for the state budget of Ukraine, which may affect the country's financial stability in the near future. According to him, the situation requires urgent decisions from the authorities.

State budget of Ukraine 2026: what risks did Zheleznyak mention

According to the Deputy's estimates, the key problem remains the budget deficit and dependence on international assistance. He emphasized that without stable external financing, the state may face difficulties in meeting its obligations.

Among the main risks:

  • delays or reductions in international financial support

  • increased defense and social spending

  • pressure on the hryvnia exchange rate and inflation

  • the need to revise budget indicators

Zheleznyak emphasized that the current funding model remains vulnerable as a significant part of the expenditures is covered by partners.

The Deputy pointed out that in case of a shortage of funds, the government will have to seek internal resources or revise expenditures. This may affect social programs and economic activity.

He also noted that to stabilize the situation, it is necessary to:

  • strengthen cooperation with international partners

  • control state expenditures

  • ensure transparency in budget processes

At the same time, Zheleznyak emphasized that Ukraine has faced similar challenges before and has the tools to overcome them, but the speed of decisions will be critical.

Against the backdrop of the war, Ukraine's state budget remains in deficit and largely depends on international assistance. That is why any changes in funding from partners can directly affect the economic situation in the country.

Earlier, Zheleznyak warned of the risk of doubts regarding Ukraine's rapid Euro-integration.
