Zheleznyak called for strengthening business protection after strikes on logistics

Russian strikes on warehouses, terminals, and commercial logistics are increasingly hurting the operations of Ukrainian companies. The head of the Verkhovna Rada's Temporary Investigative Commission, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, believes that the state needs systemic solutions — from insurance against military risks to accessible loans.

Strikes on warehouses and terminals pose a risk to logistics

In the video, Zheleznyak described attacks on civilian logistics infrastructure as a continuation of Russia's economic pressure on Ukraine. It's not just about destroyed buildings: after a strike, companies lose goods, equipment, delivery routes, and the ability to quickly serve customers.

At the same time, the politician combined several separate attacks that occurred on different days and in various regions. In particular, on July 25, as a result of a strike on the Novaya Pochta terminal in Sumy, three drivers were killed, and others were injured. The company announced that it had activated backup routes to minimize delays after the attack.

Separately, ROZETKA reported the destruction of a distribution complex in Brovary, where more than 100,000 orders were processed daily before the attack. The founder of the company emphasized that the facility is not subject to restoration, but no people were harmed as a result of the strike.

Insurance against military risks for businesses

Zheleznyak believes that after such attacks, business needs more than one-time solutions. In his opinion, an accessible mechanism for insurance against military risks is necessary, which would allow companies to receive compensation and resume operations faster.

The state program for property insurance against military risks has been operational since early 2026. It provides direct compensation for businesses in frontline areas and partial coverage of insurance premiums for companies across the country. However, its scale does not yet meet the risks of large logistics and retail, according to the Ministry of Economy.

Preferential loans can support the operations of networks

Another solution the politician mentioned is affordable lending for affected companies. After the destruction of a warehouse, businesses face a cash gap: the goods are gone, while salaries, rents, purchases, and taxes remain.

The consequences for consumers do not necessarily mean a shortage of goods, as large networks have backup warehouses and routes. However, prolonged attacks on logistics can complicate deliveries, increase business costs, and put pressure on prices.

Earlier, Zheleznyak announced a crackdown on corrupt officials due to EU demands and 90 billion euros.
