Переговори в Женеві: Сполучені Штати та Україна обговорюють нові варіанти мирних ініціатив

Negotiations in Geneva

The negotiations held on November 23 in Geneva, between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, and Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, were assessed as positive. The participants discussed peace proposals and possible changes to them, which marked an important step in the peace process.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that changes would be made to the peace proposals, indicating the parties' readiness for compromises and continued dialogue. Andriy Yermak also confirmed the productivity of the meeting, stating that it was very fruitful for both sides. Volodymyr Zelensky, in turn, thanked the US and Donald Trump for their support of Ukraine during this difficult period.

The Importance of the Peace Process

President Zelensky stressed that the war, initiated by Russia on February 24, has been ongoing for quite some time. He noted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is waging war without regard for losses, which indicates the seriousness of the situation and the need to intensify peace efforts. Zelensky also expressed gratitude to all European countries, as well as members of the G7 and G20, who are helping Ukraine protect the lives of its citizens.

Zelensky stated that today’s meetings were among the most productive and significant in the peace process for him.

“We have very good progress and are moving forward towards a just and lasting peace” - Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President also emphasized that this is a prolonged war, and the main thing that Russia is trying to do is to leave itself the opportunity to fight longer.

Thus, the Geneva talks became an important stage in the formation of new peace proposals, reflecting the joint position of Ukraine and the US in seeking ways to stability and peace in the region.

The Geneva talks highlight the importance of international support for Ukraine in the context of the ongoing conflict with Russia. The joint efforts of Ukraine and the US can facilitate the formation of more effective peace initiatives that, in turn, can positively influence the stability in the region. It is important that both sides are open to compromises, which is critically important for achieving sustainable peace.
