Oleksandr Zinchenko may return to the English Premier League. Manchester United have been offered to sign the 29-year-old Ukrainian as a free agent. Back in February, the player moved from Arsenal to Ajax, but his period in the Netherlands turned out to be short. This is reported by Sport.ua.
Zinchenko was offered to Manchester United
According to the source, Manchester United has received offers regarding the signing of several experienced footballers who currently do not have contracts. Among the candidates are Oleksandr Zinchenko and former Real Madrid defender David Alaba.
As for the Ukrainian footballer, the English club has not yet made a final decision. The status of a free agent allows Zinchenko to be signed without the payment of a transfer fee to another club.
One of the main questions remains the physical condition of the Ukrainian. In February, Inkorr reported that Zinchenko was out for the season due to a serious knee injury that required surgical intervention.
Due to the injury, the 2025/2026 season has effectively ended prematurely for the player. According to Sport.ua, in total, for Nottingham Forest and Ajax, the Ukrainian has played only 11 matches and has not scored any goals.
Zinchenko may return to the English Premier League
A potential contract with Manchester United would mean Zinchenko's return to the English championship, where he spent a significant part of his career. The Ukrainian played for Manchester City and Arsenal, and the first half of the 2025/2026 season was spent on loan at Nottingham Forest.
In February 2026, Zinchenko moved to Ajax. The contract with the Dutch club was only until the end of the season. Shortly after the transfer, the player suffered a serious knee injury.
Now the lack of a valid contract gives the Ukrainian the opportunity to negotiate with a new club without transfer negotiations. At the same time, for Manchester United, an important factor will be how well Zinchenko has recovered from the injury and when he can return to full training and matches.
Manchester United has not officially announced negotiations with the Ukrainian. Therefore, it is about the proposed candidacy to the club, rather than an agreed transfer.
It is worth noting that after the end of his contract with the Amsterdam club, Oleksandr Zinchenko officially left Ajax and gained the status of a free agent.
