A resident of one of the villages in the Ternopil region has been informed of suspicion of receiving illegal remuneration for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions (part 2 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the investigation, in October 2024, the woman contacted the family of the deceased serviceman, whose body was located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. She assured the relatives that she had good relations with the servicemen of one of the units who could help return the body of the deceased from the occupied territory of the Donetsk region. She valued her 'service' at $5000.

The woman, living in the Ternopil region, was suspected of extorting a bribe for the possibility of returning the body of the deceased serviceman from the temporarily occupied territory. She attempted to extort $5000 from the relatives of the deceased, assuring them of her connections with servicemen to solve this issue.

Bodies of Russian citizens are being planted

We remind you that the Russian side plants the bodies of its citizens during the exchange of the deceased. Among the bodies transferred, even those found with Russian passports. By the way, during the identification of the bodies of the deceased that Russia transfers as part of repatriation, there are often cases where remains of several different people are found in one bag.

Another very important issue arises in the handover of the bodies of Russian citizens during the exchange of the deceased, when identification is not always conducted at the proper level and can lead to misunderstandings and mistakes. Even during the repatriation of bodies, difficulties may arise, and this requires attention and further solution.
