Ukraine’s Women’s 3x3 Basketball Squad Set for 2026 World Championship

The Ukrainian women’s 3x3 basketball team has announced the four players who will represent the nation at the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Warsaw, Poland, from June 1 to June 7. The roster includes Miriam Uro-Nile, Kateryna Koval, Anzhelika Liashko, and Krystyna Filevych, under the guidance of head coach Volodymyr Zhurzhiy. Ukraine has been placed in Group D, where they will face off against teams from France, Canada, Japan, and Lithuania.

The squad’s first match is set for June 2, featuring two games that day: at 3:20 PM local time, Ukraine takes on Canada, followed by a 5:40 PM clash with Japan. Later, on June 4, the team will compete against France at 1:30 PM and Lithuania at 3:20 PM. To advance from the group stage, Ukraine must finish among the top three teams. The group winners automatically progress to the quarterfinals, while the second- and third-place teams will play an additional knockout match for a spot in the last eight.

Last year, the team reached the semifinals at Women’s World Series events in Vienna and Ulaanbaatar, securing a bronze medal in the latter. Two current players, Anzhelika Liashko and Miriam Uro-Nile, competed in the previous World Cup, where Ukraine ended at the bottom of their group. Krystyna Filevych last played at the World Cup in 2019 and was also part of the squad that earned a bronze medal in 2017. The roster also features Kateryna Koval, a 195 cm tall player who was the third-highest scorer at the U18 World Cup in Debrecen, tallying 46 points across five games.

The Ukrainian women’s 3x3 basketball team is intensifying its preparations for the summer season, aiming for a strong performance at the World Cup in Warsaw.
