The women's national basketball team of Ukraine has announced the coaching staff

The head coach of the women's national basketball team of Ukraine, Yevhen Murzin, has decided on his assistants who will help him at the start of the qualifying round for the European Championship 2027. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' with reference to the FBU.


In Murzin's coaching staff, 60-year-old Inna Kochubey will continue to work, and she has been joined by Hanna Shlykova. Olena Ohorodnikova, who was part of the coaching staff during the qualification for EuroBasket-2025, will play in November for the Deflympic national basketball team of Ukraine.


The careers of Murzin's assistants


Inna Kochubey worked as an assistant coach at 'Kyiv-Basket' from 2017 to 2021, then was the head coach of the team 'Budivelnyk-NUFZSU'. A month before the full-scale invasion, she returned to 'Kyiv-Basket', starting to work as a coach in the academy.


Since 2022, Kochubey has been coaching at the Polish club UKS Basket Aleksandrów Łódzki. This season, she has taken over the main team that competes in the third-level division of the Polish championship. She has been continuously working in the coaching staff of the national women's team since 2016 and has been leading the youth teams of Ukraine since 2018.


Hanna Shlykova is a long-time coach and teacher of the basketball department of Khmelnytskyi DYuSSh №3 and BK Khmelnytskyi. Since 2023, she has been part of the coaching staff of the women's U-18 and U-20 teams. She has also successfully led a team that won the First League in the 2020/21 season and competes in the Higher Men's League.


Start of qualification for EuroBasket-2027


The women's national team of Ukraine will start participating in the qualification for the European Championship-2027 in November. The Ukrainian team is in group E, where they will play against the teams of Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan.


The first match will be an away game against Montenegro, followed by two home matches in Latvia. The match schedule is detailed above.
