The Ukrainian women's biathlon team announced its lineup for the World Cup start: Dzima is absent

Команда жінок з біатлону України представила склад для старту Кубка світу: без Дзими в складі.

The Ukrainian women's team is preparing for the opening stage of the World Cup in Östersund, Sweden. The team composition was determined after control starts at the Swedish Championship in November. Team leader Yuliia Dzima will not participate in the start, while Valeria Dmytrenko will make her debut in the World Cup. The competition will begin on November 29 in Östersund.



In the lineup of the Ukrainian team for the World Cup in Östersund will compete Khrystyna Dmytrenko, Valeria Dmytrenko, Anastasiia Merkushina, Oleksandra Merkushina, Olena Horodna, and Daryna Chalyk. Yuliia Dzima's absence at the start is explained by her injury, but it is expected that she will join the team at the next stage in Hochfilzen, Austria.



At the European Youth Olympic Festival, Ukraine ranked 10th in the medal count, winning 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals. This was the second most successful performance of our team at the Festivals. The successes of Ukrainian athletes were noticeable not only in judo, but also in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, gymnastics, and table tennis.



The Ukrainian team at the World Summer Universiade in Germany won 12 medals, of which 4 were gold. Our athletes ranked 14th in the overall standings. At the end of the competitions, Mykola Rushchak won bronze in the 20 km race walk.
