Five-Year Prison Sentence for Kyiv Region Man Who Tortured Partner’s Toddler Son and Daughter

Чоловіка з Київщини засудили до п'яти років ув'язнення за жорстоке поводження з дітьми.

Court Delivers Verdict in Child Torture Case

A man from the Kyiv region has been sentenced to five years in prison for torturing his partner’s three-year-old son and two-year-old daughter. The ruling followed an investigation launched in early 2024, after juvenile prosecutors in Fastiv uncovered evidence of systematic physical abuse against the young children.

Investigators found that the man repeatedly inflicted severe physical pain on the boy and girl. Medical examinations revealed numerous bruises across their bodies, and doctors confirmed the children had endured significant suffering. Upon discovering these facts, authorities arrested the suspect. The head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office issued a formal suspicion and approved the indictment.

The court convicted the man under Articles 127, Part 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which address the torture of minors. His punishment is five years behind bars. Juvenile prosecutors are currently reviewing the first-instance court’s decision.

Child Safety Concerns Across the Region
