Collision at a Railway Crossing
A passenger train collided with a VAZ 2108 car at a railway crossing in Horodenka, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, on January 19, 2026. The crash resulted in injuries to three people, including a five-year-old child. Railway crossings in Ukraine, as in many countries, require drivers to exercise extreme caution.
The incident occurred when the train, operating on the 'Kyiv – Yasinya' route, struck the vehicle. Emergency services were alerted to the accident at 08:38. The injured included two adults, born in 1944 and 1952, and the child.
Rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene and extracted a man who had been trapped inside the car. All victims were handed over to emergency medical teams for necessary treatment. The circumstances and precise causes of the collision are currently under investigation.
