Changes in the Housing Policy of Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted draft law No. 12377, which repeals the Housing Code of the Ukrainian SSR and the law on privatization, introducing new mechanisms in the housing sector. This decision aims to modernize approaches to housing management in Ukraine and implement more effective mechanisms to provide citizens with housing conditions.
According to the adopted draft law, the effect of the Housing Code of the Ukrainian SSR and the law on privatization is repealed. One of the key innovations is the creation of an open online database of service housing, which is expected to simplify access to information about available housing that can be provided to citizens. At the same time, the privatization of service housing is prohibited, which, according to the deputies, will ensure the preservation of this housing for its intended use.
Authorities of the Cabinet of Ministers
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has been granted the authority to determine the categories of citizens who have the right to service meters. This decision is intended to make the process of distributing service housing more transparent and clear. In the new system, the classification of housing will include:
- social
- affordable
- temporary housing
- service
These changes will contribute to the regulation of housing relations in Ukraine and improve conditions for citizens.
The adoption of this draft law is an important step in reforming Ukraine's housing policy, which could significantly impact the availability of housing for various categories of the population. The introduction of new housing management mechanisms and the creation of a transparent mechanism for distributing service housing can help improve living conditions for citizens, especially in the face of social challenges and the need to modernize housing infrastructure in the country.
