Key Updates on Border Crossings with Romania and Moldova
Adverse weather conditions have led to the temporary suspension of cargo and passenger vehicle processing at the 'Isakcha' border crossing point. At this location, which connects with the Ukrainian checkpoint 'Orlivka', only passenger cars are currently permitted to cross. These operational adjustments are common during the winter months in the region.
Separately, starting February 16, temporary restrictions will be implemented at the 'Solotvyno – Sighetu Marmației' crossing. Vehicle processing at this point will be suspended on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pedestrian traffic at 'Solotvyno – Sighetu Marmației', however, will continue without any restrictions.
Infrastructure Projects and Other Developments
Meanwhile, in the Vinnytsia region, reconstruction is ongoing at the international checkpoint 'Bronnytsia – Unguri' on the border with Moldova. The cost of this reconstruction project exceeds 162 million Ukrainian hryvnias. In related border infrastructure news, a new pedestrian crossing was officially opened on January 14 within the 'Uzhhorod – Vyšné Nemecké' checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is urging drivers and carriers to take this information into account when planning their routes. Updates regarding the resumption of normal crossing operations will be provided separately.
