Emergency Power Outages Hit Multiple Ukrainian Regions
Due to ongoing combat and attacks on energy infrastructure, consumers in several Ukrainian regions are experiencing power outages. As of this morning, consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts are without electricity. Emergency repair work on energy facilities is underway, while scheduled hourly power cuts and industrial consumption limits remain in effect nationwide. Severe weather conditions have also left more than 34 settlements in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Ternopil oblasts without power. Meanwhile, the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant in Kyiv has temporarily halted operations due to serious damage sustained during a strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on the night of Tuesday, February 3rd.
The Ministry of Energy notes that 'scheduled hourly power cuts, as well as power consumption limits for industry and business, are in effect across the country.'
