Innovations in the Education System of Ukraine
Starting from 2028, graduates of the 9th grade in Ukraine will undergo state final certification in the form of external independent evaluation in three subjects. This innovation stipulates that students completing basic education will take the final assessment in Ukrainian language, literature, and mathematics in May 2028.
Expansion of the List of Subjects
Moreover, there are plans to expand the list of subjects for the exams. Additional subjects may include:
- natural sciences
- history
- social studies
- foreign languages
To organize the state certification, a separate educational online platform will be developed to ensure convenience and accessibility of the process. The Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment will be responsible for the preparation of exam materials and conducting the testing. This innovation aims to improve the quality of education and the evaluation of students' knowledge.
The introduction of external independent evaluation for 9th-grade students reflects the trend towards standardizing educational processes in Ukraine. This decision could be an important step towards reforming the education system, as it will contribute to a more objective assessment of students' knowledge and skills.
