Zolochiv Department of the State Migration Service
The Zolochiv Department of the Western Interregional Office of the State Migration Service (SMS) provided a significant number of administrative services throughout 2022. The department, located at 1 Borys Voznytsky Street, under the leadership of Volodymyr Menyk, issued a total of 5,575 passports and other documents for citizens of Ukraine.
Provision of Services
Among the services provided, the largest portion consists of passports for traveling abroad — 2,879 were issued. In addition, 1,995 citizens received ID cards. One immigration permit to Ukraine was also issued, along with one passport in booklet form. An essential part of the department's work involved affixing photos to passports in connection with reaching the ages of 25 and 45, which totaled 693.
Zolochiv, the city where the department operates, holds historical significance. In 1989, the first democratic rally in Lviv took place here, organized by Vyacheslav Chornovil, who was sentenced to 15 days for this act. It's also worth mentioning Borys Voznytsky, a Hero of Ukraine and prominent art scholar, after whom the street where the department is located is named. The Zolochiv Castle, an architectural monument of the 17th century, also deserves attention as an important part of the region's cultural heritage.
Thus, the Zolochiv Department of the SMS continues to play an important role in providing administrative services related to passport issuance against the backdrop of the city's rich history and cultural heritage.
Given the significant number of passports issued, one can conclude that there is an active demand for administrative services among the population. This may indicate an increase in citizens' mobility and a need to travel abroad, particularly in the context of current economic and social conditions. The work of the Zolochiv Department of the SMS, therefore, not only simplifies the lives of residents but also reflects the general trends in society related to migration processes and adaptation to new conditions.
