Pavlo Korostylov - World Champion in Shooting: How the Ukrainian Won Gold

On the final day of the World Championship in Shooting, held in Cairo, Egypt, Ukrainian athlete Pavlo Korostylov ascended to the highest step of the podium! Pavlo triumphed in the 25m center-fire pistol competition.


The competition consisted of two stages - three series of precision shooting and three series of rapid shooting. The Ukrainian was the best in the precision part, scoring 291 points. In rapid shooting, his score was 293 points. Pavlo's final result was 584-29x.


This World Championship was particularly successful for Pavlo Korostylov: he won his third medal in Cairo and the 12th medal at World Championships overall.

Thanks to a higher number of hits in the 'ten', the Ukrainian surpassed Indian representative Gurpreet Singh, who had the same score but fewer central hits (584 - 18x). The bronze medal was awarded to Frenchman Jan Pierre Louis Friedrich.

At the World Shooting Championship in Cairo, Ukrainian athlete Pavlo Korostylov became the champion in the center-fire pistol competition at 25 meters. This is his third medal in this city and the 12th at World Championships overall. Pavlo managed to overcome his opponents thanks to accurate shots and excellent results, making the Ukrainian team proud of their athlete.
