Elimination of Russian Occupiers
Ukraine's defense forces have taken out two Russian soldiers: Yevgeny Dashipilov and Alexander Tokarev. Despite their different backgrounds, both met tragic ends amid the ongoing war.
Yevgeny Dashipilov
Born on July 15, 1999, in the village of Gusinoye Ozero (Buryatia, Russia), Yevgeny Dashipilov made a name for himself in sports. He won the international freestyle wrestling tournament in memory of Darma Zhanayev in 2012. In 2013, he became a prizewinner at the open championship of the Trans-Baikal Territory and claimed victory at the republican tournament marking the 100th anniversary of Lopson Ivakhinov.
He joined Russia's war against Ukraine in July 2022. Dashipilov, a private, was killed on February 10, 2023, in the village of Volodymyrivka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region. He was listed as missing for over three years before his burial took place on June 9, 2026.
Alexander Tokarev
Another eliminated occupier was 40-year-old Alexander Tokarev, a footballer before the war. Tokarev started his career in 2006 with Naftovyk from Zhirnovsk, and also played for clubs like Urozhay from Yelan, Burovik from Zhirnovsk, and Tekstilnik from Ocheretino. His final club was Exclusiv from Volzhsky. He leaves behind a wife and two sons.
