Українські військові нейтралізували російського тренера боксу, який багато років виховував молодь.

Russian Military Serviceman Killed in Action

Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated 54-year-old Russian serviceman Stanislav Vialkov. Prior to his mobilization, Vialkov worked as a boxing coach in Nizhny Tagil, where for over 20 years he taught physical education at School No. 24 and trained young boxers at the Rudnichok club. He was also actively involved in organizing city sports festivals, including a Muay Thai tournament. His funeral was held on March 30, 2026. His death illustrates the human cost of the war, reaching into civilian professions far from the front lines.

Gymnast's Pro-War Stance on Social Media

In a separate development, Russian gymnast Ilteriakova has been actively expressing support for the war against Ukraine on social media. On Instagram, she has liked several posts featuring Vladimir Putin and Russian military personnel. Ilteriakova follows the page of Nikita Nagorny, who is under sanctions from Ukraine, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union for supporting Russian aggression. She has also liked posts by the Russian propagandist known as Shaman, who is similarly sanctioned by Canada, the EU, and Ukraine. Furthermore, she is subscribed to a fan page for Alina Kabaeva, who faces sanctions from Canada, the UK, the EU, the US, and Ukraine for backing the invasion. This public alignment with sanctioned figures is a notable stance for an athlete in the international spotlight.

These events reflect both personal losses and political endorsements within the context of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. The elimination of Vialkov, a mobilized soldier, underscores the conflict's protracted nature and its impact on all areas of society, including sports. Simultaneously, Ilteriakova's active social media position demonstrates how even sports figures are becoming participants in the information war supporting the aggression, which can carry serious implications for international relations and Russia's global image.

The recent events surrounding the conflict have not only resulted in personal tragedies but have also sparked significant controversies in the sports community. For instance, the actions of a Russian gymnast during the Ukrainian anthem at an international competition have raised questions about athletes' roles in political discourse and their responsibilities in times of conflict. This intersection of sports and politics further highlights the complexities of the ongoing war, affecting individuals from various backgrounds.
