Russian Invasion Losses as of June 1, 2026

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released updated figures on Russian military losses as of June 1, 2026. According to the latest report, total Russian personnel casualties have reached approximately 1,365,060, marking an increase of 1,410 from the previous tally. In addition, substantial equipment losses have been recorded, including tanks, armored fighting vehicles, and artillery systems.

As of early June 2026, Russia’s documented equipment losses in the war are as follows:

  • Tanks destroyed: 11,966 (+4)
  • Armored fighting vehicles: 24,659 (+2)
  • Artillery systems: 43,037 (+50)
  • Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,820 (+1)

The estimated financial cost of Russia’s destroyed equipment is staggering. For instance, the value of destroyed cruise missiles is calculated at roughly $14.06 billion, based on an average price of $3 million per missile. Drone losses amount to about $9.66 billion (at $30,000 per unit), while destroyed aircraft represent $13.08 billion (assuming an average cost of $30 million per plane). Helicopter losses are valued at approximately $5.29 billion (at $15 million each).

Further estimates place the cost of destroyed tanks at $29.91 billion (averaging $2.5 million per tank) and artillery systems at $64.55 billion (at $1.5 million each). Armored fighting vehicles are valued at $14.79 billion, air defense systems at $20.98 billion, and naval assets—including ships and submarines—at $2.58 billion.

It is noted that these figures are approximate, as only the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has precise data on the specific models of equipment destroyed. As of now, the full-scale war in Ukraine has entered its 1,559th day.

The updated casualty figures highlight the ongoing intensity of combat in Ukraine, now in its fifth year. The heavy losses in both personnel and hardware underscore the scale of the conflict and its toll on Russia’s military capabilities. These numbers could carry strategic implications for the future course of operations in the region.
