Latvia has transferred another batch of Patria 6x6 armored personnel carriers and other military equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to support their fight against Russian aggression. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Latvia.
Support for Ukraine from Latvia
The Minister of Defence of Latvia, Andris Sprud, emphasized that the country remains a close partner of Ukraine and continues to support it in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
'I am confident that our Patria armored personnel carriers will help the Armed Forces of Ukraine defend their territory from the aggressor,' he added.
Andris Sprud highlighted that this will benefit not only the Ukrainian military but also the development of Latvia's defense industry, which will have the opportunity to test its equipment in practice.
'Ukrainian soldiers will be able to use our equipment in the most challenging combat conditions, which will help us gain additional experience to enhance our own defense capabilities,' emphasized Major General Kaspars Pudans, the Commander of the National Armed Forces of Latvia.
Ukraine has received support from Latvia in the form of armored personnel carriers and military equipment to protect its borders and territory from external aggression. This not only assists the Ukrainian military in their mission but also promotes the exchange of experience and strengthens the defense capabilities of partner countries.
