Offensive on the Oleksandrivka Front Comes to an End
From January through August this year, Ukrainian forces carried out an offensive operation on the Oleksandrivka direction, and that operation has now been completed. During that period, the country’s defenders regained control over 745 square kilometers of land and 26 villages across the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the outcome, noting that Russian casualties amounted to at least 9,550 killed and more than 6,600 wounded.

Zelensky said that between January and August, airborne assault troops and other units involved in the operation “conducted an effective offensive on the Oleksandrivka axis.” He emphasized that their active operations dealt a serious blow to the Russian occupation force and also helped replenish Ukraine’s prisoner-exchange fund.

The operation was notable not just for recapturing territory but also for meeting its objectives precisely. “During the operation, 745 square kilometers were liberated.
