Ukrainian forces continue to attack Russia's air defense systems in occupied Crimea. However, Russian troops are quite quickly restoring the destroyed installations.
According to the speaker of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Captain 3rd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk, the situation with aviation and military airfields in the airspace over the peninsula remains complex.
Pletenchuk explained that air defense systems are concentrated in occupied Crimea because the Russians consider the peninsula key from a strategic standpoint, particularly due to the existence of the 'Crimean Bridge'.
In Novorossiysk, Russian occupiers maintain their fleet thanks to a powerful air defense system. Destroying this system is an important task for Ukrainian forces to be able to strike enemy targets.
