Rights of Freed POWs
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has outlined the entitlements of liberated prisoners of war, which include financial compensation, access to healthcare, leave, and social benefits. Every freed defender of Ukraine is eligible for a one-time payment of 100,000 hryvnia. Additionally, an annual financial aid package of 100,000 hryvnia is provided for each year spent in captivity.
Military salaries, including any supplementary bonuses, remain intact for the entire duration of captivity. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that medical care, leave, and social guarantees are also fundamental rights for those who have been released.
