Anastasiia Nikon's Olympic Path

According to НОК: Ukrainian cross-country skier Anastasiia Nikon is preparing for her debut at the XXV Winter Olympic Games, to be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2026. Her athletic journey began in childhood, inspired by her father, a former Olympian who competed for Ukraine's national cross-country skiing team. After nine years of systematic training under a dedicated coach, Nikon earned her place on the Olympic team based on her FIS point ranking.

Her story highlights the dedication required to reach the world's premier sporting event. The team is currently in the final stages of preparation at a high-altitude training camp. In an interview with Ukraine's National Olympic Committee press service, Anastasiia shared how her initial goals evolved into an Olympic ambition:

“At first, I just wanted to learn to ski well, then to compete. Later, more serious goals emerged: to make the national team, to compete internationally. And, of course, the Olympic Games – that is every athlete's dream.” - Anastasiia Nikon

Upon learning of her selection for the Olympic team, Nikon felt a mix of joy and pressure:

“When I found out, I was very happy and joyful. At the same time, I felt nervous because it is a huge responsibility. It was a significant moment, as I had worked towards it for many years.” - Anastasiia Nikon
