Ukraine Accelerates Drone Defense: 20 Kilometers of Road Nets Per Day

According to Главком: Ukraine is rapidly expanding its construction of anti-drone nets over highways near the Russian border. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced that 1.6 billion hryvnias from the state budget have been allocated for this initiative. These protective structures are a direct response to the threat of Russian reconnaissance and attack drones targeting vital supply lines. Construction rates surged to 12 kilometers per day in February, nearly 2.5 times faster than January's pace of roughly 5 kilometers daily.

During February, 125 kilometers of roads were covered with new protective canopies, and 55 kilometers of previously installed structures were repaired. Plans for March aim to increase the pace to 20 kilometers per day, with an additional 4,000 kilometers of road protection slated for completion by year's end.
