Japan has provided Ukraine with equipment for humanitarian demining

Meeting of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with the Ambassador of Japan

According to МВС: The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ivan Vihivskyi, met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome, who is concluding his diplomatic mission. During the meeting, the results of cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in various fields were discussed, including:

• technical equipment for the border;
• forensic laboratories;
• humanitarian demining;
• equipment for medical facilities;
• expert service;
• vehicles for barrier-free driving schools.

As part of the cooperation, Ukrainian specialists participated in training to learn from the experience of other countries. The Japan International Cooperation Agency also provided the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with transport for informing the population about dangers, mobile workshops, and remote detection complexes for explosive objects.

The importance of Japanese support

Ivan Vihivskyi emphasized the importance of Japanese support, stating: 'Japan remains one of the key partners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. I am grateful to the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine and the Government of Japan for their continued support during this extremely difficult time. We look forward to strengthening our cooperation.'

This meeting underscores the active diplomatic interaction between Ukraine and Japan, which is important in the context of the current challenges faced by Ukraine. Japan's support in areas such as security, healthcare, and humanitarian assistance can significantly impact the stability and development of Ukraine amid the crisis. In addition to its support for humanitarian demining efforts, Japan is also actively involved in enhancing social welfare for Ukrainians. Through the SPIRIT project, Japan aims to provide essential social payments, further demonstrating its commitment to Ukraine's stability and recovery during these challenging times.
