Modular Ukrposhta outlets arrive in Ukraine

According to Кулеба: Thanks to funding from the Japanese government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), 20 prefabricated post office units have been set up in Ukraine. These new facilities are located in six oblasts near the front lines: Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, and Kherson. The effort forms part of an emergency recovery and reconstruction program run jointly by Ukraine’s Ministry of Development and JICA.

Since Russia’s full‑scale invasion began, 49 Ukrposhta branches have been completely destroyed and another 648 damaged. In response, Japan has been providing financial assistance across multiple phases-over $700 million in earlier rounds-and the current fifth phase is now underway. The installation of these modular branches will help restore postal services in war‑affected areas.

Ukraine’s postal network has been severely disrupted by the conflict, making rapid, low‑cost solutions like modular units critical for maintaining basic services.
