Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Attack Targets Cargo Ships in Taganrog Bay

According to Главком: During the night of June 5, two cargo vessels came under drone assault in the Taganrog Bay area of the Sea of Azov. The attack resulted in the deaths of five Azerbaijani nationals and left three others injured. The ships were en route from Turkey to Rostov-on-Don to load grain when they were hit.

The targeted vessels were the Belize-flagged 'Natra' and the Palau-flagged 'Zirkon'. On board the 'Natra', which had a crew of 12, two individuals lost their lives. The ship sustained four drone strikes but remained afloat, now requiring towing assistance. The 'Zirkon', carrying 14 crew members, suffered three fatalities from four impacts. All crew members on both ships were citizens of Azerbaijan.

The three injured sailors were taken to a hospital in the Russian city of Yeysk, located in the Krasnodar Krai region. Rescued crew members were brought to the port of Yeysk by civilian vessels. Officials from Azerbaijan’s embassy in Russia have traveled to the scene to provide necessary consular assistance.
