According to glavcom.ua: A morning rocket attack occurred in Cherkasy, which seriously damaged the city cemetery #4. This was reported by the police of the Cherkasy region based on information from 'Glavkom'.

Mayor of Cherkasy Anatoliy Bondarenko believes that the target of the attack could have been the Alley of Heroes, where about 300 graves were destroyed.

 'Today, what happened here is simply a ruthless violation of the memory of our ancestors and soldiers who are buried here. Perhaps their target was directed at the Alley of Heroes,' said Bondarenko.

The police of the Cherkasy region reported that they have received 126 reports of damaged property at the moment. Law enforcement continues the investigation and assists citizens affected by the rocket strike.

As a result of the shelling, residential buildings, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, forestry, the city cemetery, garages, and cars were significantly damaged. Fortunately, there are no fatalities, but 7 people were injured, including a 9-year-old child. Rescue operations continue, and the police urge citizens to be cautious and follow all safety requirements.
