Attack on Kharkiv: Russian drones targeted apartment buildings, casualties reported (updated)

According to glavcom.ua: On the night of July 7, 2025, Kharkiv was attacked by Russian drones that hit apartment buildings in the Slobidsky and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the city. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

The city mayor reported that there were 12 casualties in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Another two casualties in the Slobidsky district. A total of 16 people were injured in the city, Terekhov noted.

The mayor stated that the number of casualties in the Shevchenkivskyi district has risen to eight.

Terekhov also reported four casualties in the Shevchenkivskyi district, including two children. In the Slobidsky district, there are two injured. There were two instances of shelling in the Slobidsky district, one in the residential sector, the other at a civilian facility.

According to the mayor, initial shelling in the Shevchenkivskyi district led to a fire in a residential building with casualties.

Shelling at an apartment building in the Slobidsky district of Kharkiv has also been recorded. Information about the number of injured and the extent of the damage is being clarified.

Currently, all necessary services are working at the shelling sites.

At least seven explosions were heard in Krasnozavodsk due to a drone attack, local residents report.

Additionally, on the same night, the Russian occupation army attacked Kyiv. Reports indicate damage in the Desnianskyi and Solomianskyi districts of the capital. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the head of the Kyiv OVA, Tymur Tkachenko.

In the Desnianskyi district, as a result of enemy drone shelling, windows in a non-residential building were damaged. Information about casualties and losses is being clarified, Tkachenko wrote.

Also, in the Solomianskyi district, damage to vehicles and a water supply pipe was reported as a result of shelling. There are no preliminary reports of a fire or casualties.

The events that occurred during the night of July 7, 2025, testify to a large-scale attack by Russian drones on the cities of Kharkiv and Kyiv. Kharkiv suffered significant destruction and a substantial number of casualties, while the Kyiv districts of Desnianskyi and Solomianskyi also sustained damage from the attack.
