Railway Station Targeted in Drone Attack

According to Главком: A series of drone strikes has severely damaged the Synelnykove railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, forcing a major disruption to train services heading to Zaporizhzhia. The assault, which involved seven separate drone strikes on the station's infrastructure, has now lasted for over 24 hours. The scale of the threat was underscored by a continuous air raid alert that remained in effect across the region for 16 consecutive hours. This attack is part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukraine's critical civilian infrastructure.

The attack resulted in significant damage to:

  • Parked electric train carriages;
  • Freight wagons;
  • Locomotives;
  • Railway tracks;
  • The electrical power grid;
  • Administrative and industrial buildings.

Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. In response, Ukrzaliznytsia, the national railway company, has imposed a temporary restriction on train traffic toward Dnipro. All trains originally scheduled to depart from Zaporizhzhia are now being rerouted to start their journeys from Dnipro instead.

Passenger Transport Reorganization

To accommodate passengers for evening services, replacement bus services have been organized to transport them to the new departure point. For instance, train No. 731 from Dnipro to Kyiv experienced a 48-minute delay due to these arrangements. Ukrzaliznytsia warns that passengers should anticipate some schedule delays due to the detour via bus and the necessary transfer from buses to trains in Dnipro.

Dispatchers and monitoring teams continue to oversee the situation and the movement restrictions between Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. Passengers are urged to pay close attention to station announcements and monitor updates via the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app for the latest travel information.

This incident highlights the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its direct impact on the country's vital transportation networks.

Authorities and railway operators are working to minimize the disruption, but the situation remains tense. Travelers are advised to exercise caution and stay informed about any further schedule changes.
