ATB released an advertisement featuring Laima Vaikule: the network responded to the hate

In a fresh new advertisement, the famous Latvian singer Laima Vaikule appeared for the Ukrainian supermarket chain ATB. In the film, she performs the Ukrainian folk song 'Shchedryk', accompanied by a choir and a dance ensemble. This video was created for Christmas, and the caption under the video mentioned the search for light in difficult times and joy in the company of loved ones.

Of course, such an unexpected collaboration provoked mixed feelings among Ukrainians. Many expressed outrage over the choice of a singer from Russia, but ATB's representatives explained that the advertisement had a positive message about the unity of peoples and the coziness of the festive atmosphere. There were also supporters of Laima Vaikule who emphasized her support for Ukraine in our times.
