Crash Occurs Near Village of Stari Bezradychi

According to Главком: A collision involving two trucks, a Ford and a Hyundai HD, occurred on February 19th near the village of Stari Bezradychi. The passenger of the Ford, a 46-year-old woman, sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized. The drivers of both vehicles, a 51-year-old man driving the Ford and a 48-year-old man driving the Hyundai HD, were not injured. Following the impact, the vehicles became uncontrollable and collided with a metal guardrail.

The pre-trial investigation into the crash has been initiated by the investigative department of the Obukhiv District Police under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Road safety remains a critical issue in the region, with authorities frequently responding to such incidents.

Road Accident Statistics

In 2025, a total of 2,101 road accidents involving injuries were registered in Kyiv Oblast. These accidents resulted in 241 fatalities and 2,646 injuries. The primary causes of accidents in the Kyiv region are:

  • Exceeding safe and posted speed limits,
  • Violation of maneuvering rules,
  • Violation of rules for crossing intersections.

Nationwide in Ukraine for 2025, 25,934 injury-related accidents were recorded, claiming 3,249 lives and injuring 31,898 people. In a separate incident on the morning of February 19th, an accident involving a school bus and an SUV occurred in the Stavyshche settlement of the Bila Tserkva district.

Road traffic accidents continue to be a serious problem for Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv Oblast, where statistics indicate a significant number of injury-related cases. The collisions on February 19th underscore the urgent need for enhanced road safety and stricter adherence to traffic rules. With speeding and improper maneuvering remaining leading causes, concerted efforts are required to reduce risks on the roads.
