Autogas in Ukraine has reached a record price since the beginning of the war: what causes the sharp rise
The price of autogas in Ukraine
According to ХВИЛЯ: The price of autogas in Ukraine has exceeded 37.67 UAH per liter, which is the highest indicator since the beginning of the war in 2022. The rise in prices is caused by logistical problems and the increase in prices in the wholesale market. The cost of autogas continues to rise, with the wholesale price increasing by 5 thousand UAH per ton to 62.7 thousand UAH since the beginning of December. This has led to a price increase of more than 10% in the last month.
Causes of the rise in autogas prices
The main reasons for the rise in prices are critical logistical problems and dramatic increases in gas prices in the wholesale segment. The largest networks have raised prices twice by 1 UAH per liter. It should also be noted that liquefied gas from domestic producers has increased in price by 3.5-3.8 UAH per liter. More than 60-70% of autogas comes from the southern direction, which also affects the pricing policy in the country.
It is expected that in the near future prices will remain at current levels in the range of 37-39 UAH per liter. From January 1, 2026, an increase in excise duty of 25 euros per thousand liters is planned, which may affect the further development of the market. Experts' forecasts indicate that the autogas market in Ukraine will remain under pressure, and further changes in pricing policy are inevitable.
The increase in autogas prices in Ukraine may affect the overall economic situation of the population, as autogas is an important element for many motorists. Given that the main gas supplies come from the southern direction, further changes in pricing policy may be closely related to external factors such as the geopolitical situation and logistical challenges. In the future, consumers may face the need to adapt their fuel expenses, which may affect their daily financial decisions.
