Азійські леви в Індії: причини конфліктів з людьми та захист дітей

In the state of Gujarat, India, there is a rise in cases of Asiatic lions attacking local residents. In the last three days, two fatal incidents occurred when predators attacked children. A two-year-old girl was killed while playing on the veranda, and another lion seriously injured a farmer in Amreli district.

The cause of the increasing conflicts is the growing population of lions in the Gir Forest National Park, where their population has reached 891 individuals. As a result, lions are increasingly approaching populated areas, posing a threat to local residents.

Such incidents are becoming increasingly alarming as Asiatic lions venture out of the reserve and come into conflict with people, which could lead to further escalation of the situation and a threat to the safety of the residents of Gujarat.
