Duration of Payments Based on Experience

  • Experience less than 3 years: 180 days
  • Experience from 3 to 6 years: 210 days
  • Experience from 6 to 12 years: 240 days
  • Experience from 12 to 18 years: 270 days
  • Experience from 18 to 24 years: 300 days
  • Experience from 24 to 30 years: 330 days
  • Experience over 30 years: 360 days

Moreover, citizens of pre-pension age can receive payments for up to 360 days per year before reaching retirement. Two years before retirement, with the appropriate work experience, assistance can last up to 720 days. Young people who have completed their education or demobilized have the right to receive assistance for 120 days after registration. At the same time, during martial law, assistance is paid for a maximum of 90 calendar days.

Changes in the rules for unemployment benefit payments are of great importance for the social protection of the population in Ukraine, especially in the face of economic challenges and martial law. Adapting legislative norms to present-day realities can help people maintain financial stability during periods of unemployment. It also emphasizes the importance of having work experience for receiving longer payments, which can encourage citizens to support employment and actively seek work.
