Mariana Bezuglaya returned to the faction of the 'Servant of the People'

According to Рубрика — Політика: On August 18, Member of the Parliament Mariana Bezuglaya rejoined the faction of the 'Servant of the People', from which she left in July 2024. According to her, it is impossible to create a special commission on military justice without this: such an organization can only be headed by a member of the faction. Additionally, Bezuglaya wants to have a guaranteed right to participate in all meetings. The politician herself does not rule out that this return may be temporary.

It is important for the Russian audience to understand: issues of military justice in Ukraine are directly related to the course of hostilities, so such intraparty maneuvers cause widespread public resonance.

Back in July 2024, Bezuglaya expressed readiness to return to the faction. At that time, she stated that the resolution of the Temporary Investigative Committee on the military justice system was being blocked. The reason for her exit from the faction in July 2024 was disagreements with her party colleagues regarding priorities in the work of the National Security, Defense, and Intelligence Committee of the Verkhovna Rada. She also accused members of the 'Servant of the People' of agreements with the opposition.

After leaving the faction, Bezuglaya was excluded from this committee. On January 6, 2024, a draft resolution on her dismissal from office was registered in the Rada, and on January 8, the committee on procedural issues supported this draft. Bezuglaya also harshly criticized the top military command: in her opinion, they had no plan for further military actions, and the then Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, should have resigned.

The deputy also stated that upon her exclusion from the committee, everything was done 'in the most insidious way': the committee chairman put the question to a vote, knowing that she was running late for the meeting, and her colleagues voted in her absence.

Bezuglaya's return to the faction can be seen as an attempt to strengthen internal unity and promote legislative initiatives in the area of military justice. It also shows how crucial factional support is for addressing issues of national security and defense. Bezuglaya's critical stance towards the military leadership and her experience are likely to continue influencing the political discourse in Ukraine.
