Greece overtook Portugal: the best country for retirement in 2026

According to glavcom.ua: Greece has been recognized as the best place for retirees in 2026, surpassing Portugal and Spain according to the Global Retirement Index. Experts highlighted the stable healthcare system, favorable climate, and extensive social package that make Greece desirable for the elderly.
Among other countries where retirees can also enjoy comfortable years, the top 10 included Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Italy, France, Thailand, and Malaysia. Greek life is described as calm, rich, and balanced in European style.
For Ukrainian retirees, important information is the possibility of receiving two pensions – from the Ukrainian Pension Fund and the Polish Social Insurance Institution, if they worked in both countries.
