Війська Росії використовують природні укриття для перетворення кордону в Сумській області, але не можуть досягти успіху в прориві.

Combat Situation in Sumy Oblast

According to Главком: Intense fighting continues in the border areas of Ukraine's Sumy Oblast. Russian troops are attempting to intensify their assault operations by using dense vegetation, known as 'green corridors' or 'зеленка', to infiltrate small groups. As of now, no enemy breakthrough deeper into Ukrainian territory has been recorded. This was confirmed by Andrii Kovalenko, who stated:

"In the Sumy region, there is an enemy infiltration zone in the border area where the enemy is trying to intensify assault actions, taking advantage of the early foliage in attempts to seep through. The fighting is complex, but as of now, there is no enemy breakthrough deep into the territory." - Andrii Kovalenko

Separately, Russian propaganda outlets have launched a new wave of disinformation regarding the situation in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Oblast. Specifically, propagandists are using artificial intelligence to create a fake video that allegedly shows marines fleeing their positions in the Donetsk region. The Center for Countering Disinformation reports the spread online of this fake video featuring a man in a uniform posing as a serviceman of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinsky.

Enemy Tactics

The enemy's tactics involve exploiting thick vegetation to covertly penetrate the border zone with small groups. This region has seen persistent, low-level attacks since the full-scale invasion began. Simultaneously, Russian forces are suffering significant losses during their assault attempts. The situation remains tense, but so far, thanks to the efforts of Ukrainian forces, a breakthrough has been prevented.

The developments in Sumy Oblast indicate the growing efforts of Russian troops to intensify combat operations by using natural terrain to their advantage. Concurrently, the information war remains a critical aspect of the conflict, as disinformation can impact the morale of both military personnel and civilians. The efforts of Ukrainian forces to counter both military and informational attacks are crucial for maintaining stability in the region.

As the combat situation evolves in the Sumy region, it's crucial to understand the broader context of Ukraine's defensive strategies. Recent reports indicate that Ukrainian forces are adapting their positions in response to persistent threats, highlighting the ongoing struggle to maintain control in this volatile area. This strategic shift may play a significant role in countering the enemy's infiltration tactics and ensuring the stability of the front line.
